Chilean artist graduated as a licenciado in arts, sciences and communication and masters in acting directing for film from Uniacc.
Relocated to Brooklyn then landed in Birmingham, Alabama.
Gonzalez-Bocaz’ vision is at it’s very essence reactive. His paintings, merchandising and food displays proffer imagery like a dermis that exposes, yet protects, its subject. It is within the natural dichotomy which his work evokes that we realize we are in the presence of a cartography of stimuli. Colors and shapes burst forth like chemical reactions and press for space within the frame. A frame which is at the same time instinctually reproduced to assert control and order over his internal dialogue.
As a filmmaker he incorporates poetry, quirky imagery, experimental soundscape textures together. Based on his idea of surreal hyperrealism “Anything humanly conceived has happened” bringing an intoxicating oneiric landscape into a “Happening”
